We have collected a few tips and links that we find helpful.  Hopefully,  you will find them entertaining and helpful too.

1. Windshield & Plastic Cleaner -- We use a product called "Mean Green Zap" glass & Surface Cleaner available at Dollar General stores for cleaning plastic windshields & windows and other plastic surfaces.  This product costs $1.50 for a 40 oz spray bottle and does not appear to harm plastic or other surfaces (read the instructions on the bottle).  Be sure to use a clean, non-abrading cloth when cleaning your windows.  Note: this stuff also works great for general interior and exterior cleaning.  2. Removing engine exhaust grime from the belly -- Try mixing 1 part "Dawn" dishwashing detergent with 4 parts water in a pump spray bottle.  Spray this solution on stubborn stains and let is work its magic for a about one minute, then wipe it and the grime off with a shop or paper towel.  This inexpensive stuff really dissolves the grime and makes quick work of cleaning your plane.  When you've cleaned the heavy stains off,  use the above windshield and plastic cleaner to remove the soapy film left by the "Dawn" solution. 3. Restoring cracked Grumman control yoke pads -- After years of baking in the sun, the Grumman yoke pads (on later models) often resemble the dry cracked surface of a desert. Just rub a little black RTV silicone into the cracks to fill them up and lessen the "desert effect". This may not restore them to new condition but they will look considerably better.
